Dr. Dana Price grew up in south Florida. She attended Tufts University in Boston, MA for her undergraduate degree where she earned a B.A. in music in 2005. She is classically trained on the piano and violin. She also sings and has studied both jazz and contemporary music in addition to writing and recording her own music. She has played, recorded, and toured with a number of Boston-based bands throughout the years. While studying in Ottawa in the early 2010s she studied the carillon under the Dominion Carilloner Dr Andrea McCrady, and has performed in the Peace Tower on a few occasions.

Dr. Price attended Tufts University School of Medicine where she earned a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) in 2015. She has since moved back to Ottawa to be with her husband, an Ottawa native, and her young son. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and being outdoors, cottaging, staying fit, and playing music.

Dr. Price strives to provide her patients with thorough, comfortable, and compassionate care tailored to their unique needs. She believes in building trusting relationships through open communication and a patient-centered approach, ensuring that every patient feels valued and heard. She combines her expertise with a warm and friendly demeanor.

DENTAL SURGEON
Dr. Sassi completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Laval University in 2013 and took some extra training to perform IV sedation at University of Toronto. Dr. Sassi’s passion is to provide dental care to those who do not have access to it. He has traveled to various locations to do humanitarian work, treating over 700 patients in Central America and Northern Canada. When not at work, Dr. Sassi enjoys playing, arranging, and recording music, Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu. Dr. Sassi speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Dr. Kirsty Large graduated from McGill University in 2008 where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine. Her love for treating children led her to complete a General Practice Residency program at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, which she really enjoyed.

Dr. Large has always enjoyed treating patients that are anxious towards dental care. She completed additional training at Georgia Medical College which has allowed her to provide care to patients under nitrous, oral and intravenous sedation for many years. She is excited to now be able to provide dental care to pediatric patients under general anesthesia which
will be provided by a Medical Anesthesiologist.

Dr. Large is also a volunteer dentist for the Ottawa Mission Dental Program which aims to improve the dental health of those affected by homelessness by offering accessible dental care.

Dr. Natalia Dumma-Shehaj has always seen dentistry through an artistic lens. A graduate of the Medical University of Lodz , Poland in 2013, she loves the parallels between creating art and crafting beautiful smiles—both require precision, an eye for detail, and a vision for the final result. More importantly, she believes that a healthy smile is one of the most powerful confidence boosters a person can have, and helping patients achieve that goal is what gets her excited about coming to work each day.

After completing a yearlong internship at  Collegium Medicum of Jagielllonian University and practicing dentistry in Poland for a few years, Dr. Dumma-Shehaj  made the move to Canada and successfully completed the National Dental Examining Board’s equivalency and Certification processes. She’s licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and is an active member of both the Ontario Dental Association and the Ottawa Dental Society. Speaking English, Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian means she can connect with patients from diverse backgrounds in the language they’re most comfortable with.

Dr. Dumma-Shehaj joined Blue Heron Dental Group as an associate dentist in 2025. She treats patients of all ages and genuinely enjoys every aspect of dentistry, though she has a special affinity for restorative work, endodontics, and surgical procedures. What really matters to her is making sure patients feel involved in their treatment decisions. She’s found that when people understand what’s happening and why, dental visits become much less stressful—especially for those who feel anxious about dental care. She’s committed to lifelong learning and regularly takes continuing education courses to offer her patients the best and most current care possible.

When she’s not at the practice, Dr. Dumma loves spending time with her family, getting lost in both classic novels and contemporary fiction, and expressing her creativity through photography and painting. Her travels inspire both her art and her perspective on life. Around Ottawa, you might spot her ice skating along the canal in winter, inline skating one of the many scenic trails along the capital region in warmer months, or playing tennis at a local court.

Dr. Harsimrat Birgi is a licensed dentist in Canada with a strong passion for creating healthy, confident smiles. She graduated from dental school in India in 2013 and practiced dentistry there before relocating to Canada. After successfully completing her NDEB certification in January 2020, she became a licensed dentist and began practicing in Ontario.

Dr. Birgi has worked in Brampton and Guelph, gaining valuable clinical experience, before moving to Ottawa in 2021, where she continues to practice dentistry. She believes dentistry is both a science and an art, allowing her to restore function while enhancing smiles.

She is well versed in restorative dentistry, dentures, and Invisalign, and enjoys treating patients of all ages. Dr. Birgi is known for her gentle approach, and many of her patients frequently compliment her for painless dental injections, which helps put even the most anxious patients at ease. She has a special connection with children, who love her for the “magic gel” she applies to make dental visits comfortable and stress-free.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys travelling, reading, and spending quality time with her one-year-old daughter, who keeps her active and smiling every day
